Hyperbaric Pressure Effect on Dental Luting Cements

چکیده

Background and Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the flexural strength values five luting cements that are commonly used in dental restorations after exposed hyperbaric pressure.
Methods: Five (polycarboxylate cement, glass ionomer manual-mixed resin two auto-mixed cement) were prepared. (25 x 2 mm3) (n=16 for each) specimens divided into subgroups (n=8) pressure (3 ATM) 20 times 30 minutes. control groups stored ambient pressure. Universal testing machine measurement with a crosshead speed 1 mm/min.
Results: One-way ANOVA test statistical analysis, differences additionally evaluated by Weibull Analysis. Glass polycarboxylate cement most effected resins from changes. Regardless changes, highest seen self-adhesive showed lowest value.
Conclusion: Resin can be cementation divers individuals who subjected

Comparative Evaluation of Antibacterial Effect of Dental Luting Cements

Introduction: This study aimed at evaluating and comparing the antibacterial activity of six types of dental luting cements on Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus acidophilus using the agar diffusion test (ADT) and the direct-contact test (DCT). The antibacterial activity in ADT was measured based on the diameter of the zone of inhibition formed, whereas in DCT the density of the bacterial s...

The solubility and disintegration of some dental luting cements.

Available technical methods do not permit the fabri cation of dental restorations outside the mouth which will not expose the cementing medium to the influence of the oral fluids. Although meticulous craftsmanship may attain very high standards of marginal adap tation in such restorations the solubility and disinte gration of cementing media is still considered suffi ciently important to wa...

Effect of temporary cements on the shear bond strength of luting cements

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to evaluate, by shear bond strength (SBS) testing, the influence of different types of temporary cements on the final cementation using conventional and self-etching resin-based luting cements. MATERIAL AND METHODS Forty human teeth divided in two halves were assigned to 8 groups (n=10): I and V (no temporary cementation); II and VI: Ca(OH)2-based cemen...

Antimicrobial Effects of Dental Luting Glass Ionomer Cements on Streptococcus mutans

OBJECTIVE To reduce secondary caries, glass ionomer luting cements are often used for cementing of indirect restorations. This is because of their well-known antimicrobial potential through the release of fluoride ions. The aim of this in vitro study was to investigate the antimicrobial effect of five dental luting cements which were based on glass ionomer cement technology. METHODS Five diff...

Evaluating the effect of ceramic veneer thickness on degree of conversion in three luting resin cements

compare the effect of different ceramic thicknesses on degree of conversion (DC) of 3 light-cured resin cements. Methods: In this experimental in-vitro study, the degree of conversion of three light-cured resin cements, Variolink Veneer (Ivoclar, Liechtenstein), RelyX Veneer (3M ESPE, USA) and Choice2 (Bisco, USA) were evaluated beneath feldespatic ceramic discs (Vita VMK Master) with a same sh...
